Dear Julie and Sam

I remember when I came to Brussels in 2012. Finn was one of the first people I met. His good humour and generosity made everyone to love him. I know how much he loved you Julie and Sam. You were the best that had happened to him. I'm going to miss Finn as a friend, and you've lost a loving husband and father. It is so incredibly sad that Finn is gone. Rest in peace my friend, and all my thoughts are with you Julie and Sam and your families.

Dear Julie,

I got to know Finn during our shared time in European youth work decades ago. All of us quickly knew his warm heart, intelligence and his empathy. He knew good fun, but also how to support other people and to make everyone feel welcomed. He was eagerly building bridges and fostering dialogue across differences.

His departure is an incredible loss. He made world a better place.

Dear Julie,
I am so sad about the unexpected and premature death of Finn. I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to you and little Sam who I know was the pride of his life. It was such a privilege to have known Finn. We met in Bosnia as colleagues and have been friends since then over so many years. It was impossible not to love him for his sense of humour, incredible kindness and generosity. I will miss him and I see his heart-warming smile in front of me as I write these lines.
